A. Unless your cat is particularly heavy, an 8’ jump shouldn’t pose a problem. The cat’s pads absorb the impact.

A. That isn’t necessarily true. Some cat species don’t mind getting wet, these are usually species originating from hot parts of the world eg. A. No. In falls of short distances, cats can usually right themselves, and their paw pads absorb the impact. However, if the fall is from more than one or two floors , the cat may sustain severe injury.

A. You should be able to feel your cat’s ribs, but not see them sticking out. A “normal” weight for a cat is between 7 to 12 lbs.
