Basic Cat Care

Before you even consider taking on a cat, remember that you are taking sole responsibility for another living being which shouldn't be taken lightly Cats can live fifteen years or more. As a general rule thumb a twenty year old cat is the equivalent of a human centenarian so taking on a cat is a long term commitment as cats are not the low maintenance pets they are often portrayed as.

Other things to remember are that all cats should be spayed or neutered, to prevent the patter of tiny feet unless you partucularly want to breed from it. Also. inoculations should be given for conditions such as feline leukaemia. feline influenza (cat 'flu) as well as having treatment for afflictions such as fleas, ticks, and worms.
